Job summary

CVS Health's Aetna Mental Wellbeing unit seeks an EAP Clinical Counselor to provide 24/7 counseling services by video, chat, or phone, nationwide from a remote location in the USA.

You will assess clinical needs, coordinate resources, and guide members to appropriate care, while maintaining privacy and compliant documentation. A licensed behavioral health professional with crisis intervention experience is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of crisis intervention experience.
• Valid unrestricted independent licensed behavioral health professional per state regulations.
• 24x7x365 call center coverage is required.
• Experience in facilitating positive behavior change.
• Experience with mental health, psychiatric care, family situations and relationship concerns preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone-based assessment, triage, consultation, counseling and information in a call center environment.
• Conduct risk, substance abuse and mental health assessments to inform safety plans.
• Advise on levels of care to support appropriate treatment recommendations.
• Engage with members to understand needs and explain mental health resources.
• Collaborate with a professional team to ensure positive clinical outcomes and continuity of care.
• Type/document while using other tools during calls and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain documentation that meets risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current independent behavioral health licensure in the state of residence.
