Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an EAP Clinical Counselor within Aetna Mental Well-being to provide timely, high‑quality mental health support to members nationwide via video, live chat or phone. This fully remote role requires current independent licensure, crisis intervention experience, and the ability to assess needs and link members to appropriate care.

The position supports 24/7 call center operations, requires strong documentation, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and adherence to

Qualifications

• 1+ years of crisis intervention experience.
• Valid unrestricted independent behavioral health clinical license to practice per state regulations (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, LCMHC, LICSW, LISW, Clinical Psychologist).
• 24x7x365 call center coverage needed; holiday coverage is expected.
• Experience in facilitating patient/client positive behavior change.
• Experience in handling mental health, psychiatric care, family situations and relationship concerns preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone-based assessment, triage, consultation, counseling and informational services in a call center environment.
• Provides risk, substance abuse and mental health assessments to develop immediate action/safety plans.
• Has an understanding of various levels of care to aid in appropriate recommendation of care based on assessment of need.
• Collaborates with members to understand their needs and align with the member’s theory of change.
• Maintains accurate and complete documentation of required information meeting risk management and regulatory requirements.
