The Hanover Insurance Group seeks an Underwriting Specialist Specialty – Merit Specialty (Wholesale) to identify, solicit, underwrite, and sell Specialty accounts through wholesale partners. The role supports growth aligned with market appetites and portfolio goals, with independence in decision-making within authority levels.

Ideal candidates have extensive underwriting and agency-management experience and can travel for client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–7+ years Specialty or standard commercial lines experience.
• 3–4+ years’ experience driving agency relationships resulting in profitable new and renewal business.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to change and manage multiple projects.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite and sell new and renewal Specialty accounts through wholesale trading partners.
• Manage assigned portfolio to meet GWP, profitability, and growth goals.
• Develop relationships with agents and internal partners to grow business.
• Present to agents and customers and coordinate with Claims and Loss Control when needed.
