Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a strategic Underwriting Specialist Specialty – Merit Specialty (Wholesale). This full-time role supports the E&S Casualty segment, underwriting and selling specialty accounts through wholesale partners.

The ideal candidate brings 3–7+ years in specialty or commercial lines, plus 3–4+ years of agency relationship success, to help drive profitable growth across assigned territories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Generally 3-7+ years Specialty or standard commercial lines experience.
• 3-4+ years driving agency relationships for profitable new/renewal business.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites and sells new and renewal Specialty accounts with wholesale partners.
• Manages portfolio to meet gross written premium and profitability goals.
• Identifies market opportunities and negotiates with agents to improve yield and retention.
