Job summary

Selective Insurance is seeking an E&S Liability Claims Technical Specialist to manage low to moderate litigated and non-litigated bodily injury and property damage claims. The remote role focuses on handling claims from start to finish, including investigation, coverage analysis, negotiation, and disposition.

The position requires strong customer service, expertise in Xactimate, and multi-state licensing, with a compensation range that reflects nationwide base salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle litigation files from start to finish.
• Experience handling BI and PD claims.

Responsibilities

• Update the claims system to reflect file status and perform liability/damages analysis.
• Receive and approve claim expenses for investigation, processing, and handling.
• Investigate claims through phone, written communication, or in person; attend mediations/trials as needed.
• Evaluate information from depositions, expert reports, and attorney evaluations to determine loss extent.
• Investigate coverage, draft tenders and coverage letters, and respond to tenders.
• Handle inquiries from insureds, claimants, and agents; coordinate with underwriters and agents.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authority; manage both litigation and non-litigation files end-to-end.
• Explore salvage and subrogation potential; participate in claims reviews and settlements.
• Close claims with releases and disbursements.
