Job summary

Sun Gro Horticulture is seeking a District Sales Manager – Horticulture to lead the selling efforts in the New England region. You will plan, organize, and control sales activities to meet market share goals and ensure distribution objectives for Sun Gro products.

Responsibilities include achieving sales budgets, developing distributor and account plans, and monitoring expenses per guidelines. This remote role requires ~70% travel across MA, ME, RI, NH, CT, and VT.

Qualifications

• Education in horticulture or equivalent experience preferred.
• Passion for horticulture with lawn/garden retail or plant nurseries.
• Horticulture certification is a plus.
• Greenhouse/nursery production experience is a plus.
• Experience with Independent Garden Centers or horticulture departments in hardware stores.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sales according to approved plans and budgets.
• Implement/control approved sales programs; pursue new accounts.
• Canvas the market to gain insight and adjust to conditions.
• Maintain CRM data and territory profile with notes.
• Communicate with supervisor and other departments regularly.
• Participate in regional meetings to plan activities.
• Travel and maintain company equipment in clean condition.
• Submit sales and expense reports on time.
