Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Distribution Designer II to design and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 4 kV to 69 kV, including URD, re-conductoring and asset replacement projects. This permanent role involves coordinating design teams and ensuring compliance with client standards while supporting remote work. The position requires a B.S.

in Electrical Engineering (M.S. preferred) and 2+ years of utility design experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering will count towards years of experience.
• Technical training, certifications, or coursework related to utility design, telecommunications, GIS, CAD, or electric utility infrastructure.
• 2+ years of utility, telecom, joint use, or make-ready design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 4 kV to 69 kV.
• Develop overhead, URD, re-conductoring and asset replacement projects, and underground cable/conduit work packages.
• Design complex overhead and underground distribution projects in urban and rural environments in compliance with client's engineering and construction specifications.
• Coordinate small design teams to develop budgets, scoping documents, design criteria, and project deliverables.
• Provide clients with engineering assistance during construction and attend construction meetings and coordination efforts as needed.
• Identify and initiate corrective action when project objectives are not met.
• Interpret codes and regulations and develop standards for construction projects.
• Promote engineering professionalism and standards.
• Develop, recommend, and implement plans with scheduling and resource management for complex engineering.
