Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Distribution Designer or Engineer for a remote role focused on utility projects across multiple regions. You will design, convert, and document overhead and underground distribution systems using AutoCAD and related tools, with collaboration via virtual meetings and occasional in-office sessions.

The role supports OH to UG conversions, utilizes Maximo for work orders and asset data, and requires strong attention to detail, communication, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Minimum 3+ years of distribution design experience with specified tools.
• Minimum 2+ years in electrical/distribution design.
• Hands-on OH to UG conversion experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed distribution design for power delivery projects using industry-standard design platforms.
• Develop and update distribution engineering drawings and models in AutoCAD and other designated design tools.
• Support OH to UG conversion projects with accurate and compliant designs.
• Utilize Maximo to manage, track, and update work orders and project data.
• Apply engineering principles to create safe, reliable electrical distribution designs.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to clarify design requirements and resolve issues.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation, drawings, reports, and calculations.
• Coordinate with team members to support distribution projects for multiple utility clients across regions.
• Participate in project meetings, including occasional travel to the office.
• Ensure designs align with standards, guidelines, and client specs.
