Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and support overhead and underground distribution systems from 4kV to 138kV. You will develop design and construction work packages, perform calculations, and provide field and office support for distribution projects.

Work under a technical lead and gain hands-on experience with utility design, permitting, and construction support, while using GIS and CAD tools and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical-related field is required.
• Fundamental understanding of power distribution systems (4kV–138kV).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design work.
• Experience with GIS tools like ArcGIS/ArcMap is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop design and construction work packages for OH/UG distribution systems (4kV–138kV).
• Perform engineering calculations including pole loading, sag/tension, voltage drop, and flicker.
• Develop permitting documents for AHJs and support field construction activities.
• Use GIS and design tools to prepare work packages for various projects.
• Coordinate with utilities and stakeholders and support storm response activities.
