Job summary

Ampcus, Inc. is seeking an experienced Distribution Engineer to design and manage electric distribution projects for residential and commercial customers in Louisiana.

You will work on overhead and underground line extensions, estimate costs, and prepare construction drawings to support customer requests and reliability projects. You will perform load studies and engineering calculations, lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and provide technical support to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (will also take a Technical Diploma).
• 4-7 years of experience.
• Strong expertise in utility design and field practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial businesses, including design and cost estimation.
• Coordinate pre-design and pre-construction meetings with stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations (load studies, fault current, voltage drop) for planning.
• Provide leadership and technical support to operations and ensure contract compliance with design standards.
• Aid ROW with acquiring permits and ROW documents.

Job Summary

Responsible for meeting with customers to determine electric needs and requirements. Design jobs to install, replace, or remove distribution facilities to support customer requests, reliability projects, or infrastructure improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility will be to manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial businesses. Includes meeting with customers to determine their service needs, design of overhead and underground line extensions, estimating costs, preparing construction drawings, and coordinating construction commitments.
• Coordinate and lead pre-design and pre-construction meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations to aid in planning and corrective measure projects (i.e., load studies, revenue justification, fault current, voltage drop, etc.).
• Provide leadership and technical support to local operations and contract compliance with regards to distribution design standards and practices to provide seamless service to customers and external constituents.
• Aid local Right of Way agent with acquiring permits and ROW documents.

Qualifications
