Job summary

Prudential Financial is seeking a Disability Claims Specialist to join the Long-Term Disability Core Team. You will serve as a technical expert in claim management, guiding professionals and promoting high-quality outcomes across complex cases.

This role supports the Team Lead with coaching, trend analysis, and action prioritization while ownership remains with the assigned claim professional. It is a fully virtual role with potential on-site requirements.

Qualifications

• 4–5+ years in Long-Term Disability claim management with deep technical expertise.
• Advanced knowledge of LTD policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations, and benefit calculations.
• Strong communication, consultation, presentation, and facilitation skills to explain complex information.
• Proven ability to analyze complex or high-risk claim scenarios and recommend sound strategies.
• Experience coaching claim professionals and building technical capability and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to interpret claim data, inventory indicators, and activity trends to identify risks and drive improvements.
• Ability to adapt technical support and priorities to changing team needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel for data and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical expert to Team Lead and claim professionals on complex claim management matters.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation, medical/vocational considerations, strategy, and eligibility.
• Coach claim professionals through complex scenarios and reinforce effective claim management practices.
• Provide timely feedback to build technical capability and improve execution.
• Analyze claim activity to identify trends, risks, and coaching opportunities.
• Monitor inventory and performance indicators to maintain claim block health and prioritize actions.
• Support development and delivery of technical training and knowledge sharing.
• Consult on high-risk, escalated, or complex claims with recommended approaches.
• Develop and maintain technical resources, procedures, and best-practice guidance.
