Job summary

Legion Technologies seeks a Director of Production Engineering to lead DevOps/SRE for a scalable, secure AWS-based production environment. You’ll spend ~20-30% hands‑on on architecture and tooling, with the rest driving vision, roadmap, and cross‑team execution.

You’ll recruit engineers, own infrastructure reliability, and drive security, observability, incident management, and automation to support fast, secure product delivery across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in DevOps/SRE/production infra with people management.
• Deep hands‑on AWS production experience (EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, S3).
• Security operations (SecOps) experience including vulnerability handling and incident response.
• 5+ years using observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) to improve reliability and alerting.
• Strong IaC and CI/CD automation experience (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Bash; daily use of Git and test pipelines.
• Hands‑on Linux/Unix production experience (Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS).
• Experience leading cross‑functional collaboration with engineering and IT teams.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Experience building/Scaling automated investigation and remediation pipelines for production errors.

Responsibilities

• Hire and build a globally distributed DevOps/SRE team.
• Own reliability and infrastructure roadmap for AWS production environment (EKS, RDS).
• Lead SecOps including vulnerability management and incident response.
• Define and drive infrastructure OKRs; measure outcomes.
• Champion observability and alerting best practices and automate response.
• Guide agentic AI infrastructure in SDLC and DevOps pipelines.
• Drive IaC, CI/CD, and automation to boost velocity and reduce toil.
• Collaborate with engineering/IT to align on standards, tooling, and compliance.
• Ensure security, compliance, and data protection with robust controls.
• Lead on‑call rotation and incident management for high availability.
• Stay current with cloud/DevOps/security best practices and provide technical leadership.
