Job summary

The company.io seeks a Director of Cloud Operations to lead cloud infrastructure across AWS regions in the US and Europe. This hands-on leadership role guides a distributed team of engineers in the US and UK, partnering with Engineering, Security, and Product to elevate operational excellence.

You will drive reliability, observability, and cost optimization while shaping architecture for microservices, Kubernetes (EKS), and serverless workloads.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps roles.
• 3+ years leading CloudOps/SRE teams.
• Experience operating multi-region, customer-facing systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own availability, performance, and resilience of our multi-region AWS platform.
• Drive improvements in reliability with SLIs/SLOs and error budgets.
• Lead incident response improvements and MTTR reduction.
• Guide architecture for microservices, Kubernetes (EKS), and serverless workloads.
• Advance observability with Datadog across infrastructure and apps.
• Establish and refine incident management, on-call processes, and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor distributed CloudOps engineers across US and UK.
• Drive cost optimization in AWS without compromising performance.
• Advance CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices (CircleCI, Terraform).
• Lead, mentor, and support a distributed CloudOps team.
