Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a Director, Pipeline Engineering & Construction to lead owner-side development and execution of major gas transmission projects. You will oversee project managers, ensure scope, permits, contracting and cost controls, and report to senior leadership on risks and recovery plans.

The role involves remote work with 15–25% travel in the U.S., supervision of 3–6 managers and engineers, and heavy collaboration with Land, Environmental, and Regulatory teams to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from a U.S. university.
• 15+ years designing, permitting, constructing, or managing onshore gas pipelines and related facilities.
• 10+ years managing major natural gas projects from engineering through closeout.
• 5+ years supervising project teams and talent development.
• Strong contract, cost forecasting and risk management experience.
• Familiar with CFR Part 192/195, API 1104, and pipeline project controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead project managers and engineers on greenfield/brownfield transmission projects from development to closeout.
• Define scope, estimates, schedules, contracting plans and risk registers; resolve permitting/constructability issues.
• Review invoices, milestones, and project cashflows; communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Direct internal/external engineering oversight, routing, design reviews, and open-cut/HDD strategies.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost and schedule adherence; manage closeout documentation and lessons learned.
