Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a Director of Pipeline Engineering & Construction to lead owner‑side development and execution of major gas transmission projects. You will supervise PMs, Construction Managers and Engineers, overseeing scope, permits, contracting, procurement, construction, and commissioning while delivering clear status reports and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering from a U.S. university.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in natural gas transmission pipelines and related facilities.
• 10+ years managing major pipeline projects from engineering through closeout.
• 5+ years supervising project staff with talent development.
• Expertise in contract negotiation, change orders, schedule and cost forecasting.
• Fluent with Title 49 CFR Part 192 and related pipeline design/construction knowledge.
• Willingness to travel ~15–25% and lead broad cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead Project Managers and Engineers on major greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Set scope, estimates, schedules, execution plans and risk registers; drive issue resolution.
• Approve invoices, cash flows, milestones and project charts as needed.
• Direct internal/external resources, routing, design reviews and constructability studies.
• Oversee safety, quality, cost, schedule, and turnover; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop sourcing strategies and manage bid evaluations and contracts.
• Coach and develop 3–6 PMs/Engineers; maintain organizational depth.
