Job summary

The Blue Venture Fund seeks a Director of Cloud Engineering to lead our multi-cloud platform across GCP and Azure. You will set architecture direction, partner with product and security, and drive DevOps and platform initiatives while mentoring a distributed team of cloud engineers and SREs.

You will balance technical credibility with strategic influence, manage budgets and vendor relations, and champion cost-aware, secure, and scalable cloud solutions in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have proven cloud architecture leadership across multi-cloud platforms.
• Experience delivering scalable, secure cloud foundations with cost awareness.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the multi-cloud architecture strategy across GCP and Azure.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud-native workloads and platform engineering.
• Develop and evolve the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and self-service infrastructure.
• Establish governance, policy-as-code, and guardrails across cloud providers.
• Evaluate AI/ML infrastructure and related tooling for build-vs-buy decisions.
• Own IaC standards, GitOps workflows, and CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with product teams.
• Drive SRE practices, SLI/SLOs, post-mortems, and reliability improvements.
• Own observability, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting across clouds.
• Lead disaster recovery design, DR/BCP testing, and risk remediation.
• Manage cloud licensing, networking, and connectivity across data centers and campuses.
• Partner with Security to enforce Zero Trust, least-privilege IAM, and CSPM tooling.
• Support regulatory audits with architecture documentation and evidence.
