Extreme Networks in San Jose, CA is seeking a Director of Cloud Operations to lead North American cloud service operations, drive multi-cloud infrastructure initiatives, and act as the primary escalation point for production issues.

The role focuses on reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency across AWS, GCP, and Azure, with responsibility for incident response, design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration across Support, Development, QA and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in CloudOps/DevOps
• 5+ years in a manager role
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience architecting scalable, highly available cloud services
• Strong Linux, security & networking knowledge
• Container-based deployment experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Automation tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Helm)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Kibana, Prometheus)
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP security/compliance

Responsibilities

• Lead Cloud Operations teams across North America (US/Canada)
• Drive multi-cloud infrastructure implementations (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Design secure cloud networking across multi-cloud environments
• Manage middleware/data services (PostgreSQL, Ignite, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Serve as primary escalation point for production issues
• Collaborate with Support, Development, QA and other teams
• Ensure security/compliance (ISO/SOC/FedRAMP) in production
• Review service designs/deployments for readiness and scalability
• Improve availability, observability, and efficiency via automation
