Job summary

Climate Change AI (CCAI) is seeking a Director of Education to design and oversee educational programs, including MOCCs, virtual and in-person summer schools, and curriculum development. The role translates organizational strategy into actionable courses while leading a distributed team in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Background in climate change and/or machine learning topics, including some programming experience.
• Experience planning, executing, and monitoring educational projects to meet goals, timelines, budgets, and quality metrics.
• Leadership in curriculum design and development of educational materials.
• Experience with professional training, leadership training, communications training, or curriculum design in similar contexts.
• Experience organizing large-scale virtual programs and cohort-based in-person programs.
• Ability to build, mentor, and manage teams of staff and volunteers in a remote environment.
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
• Budgeting experience for project goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee execution and coordination of educational programs to democratize AI and climate education across sectors.
• Shape development of CCAI’s educational programs.
• Manage staff and volunteer teams; participate in recruitment where needed.
• Coordinate content creators, instructors, and mentors; set content standards and review processes.
• Oversee summer school programs and MOOC initiatives; manage related logistics.
• Coordinate external partner and funder engagement for education programs.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to align programs with organizational strategy.
