GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Controls to lead the Automation & Controls team, aligning with engineering to drive innovation and manufacturing optimization. The role partners with IT, R&D and process services to standardize machine controls and implement capital plans while supporting production facilities.

The position emphasizes strategic planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement, with a focus on safety and cross-functional teamwork across multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
• Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite, and advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Ensure strategic contribution to the manufacturing facilities 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, and R&D to integrate automation.
• Manage all financial responsibilities including capitalized projects and budgets.
• Manage engineering practices and mitigate obsolescence in controls systems.
• Provide leadership and promote a collaborative customer service philosophy.
• Promote safety excellence and ensure compliance with corporate standards.
