Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of Automation and Controls to lead the Automation & Controls team and collaborate with engineering to drive innovation and manufacturing optimization. This role informs capital planning and aligns cross-functional efforts to support production facilities.

You will oversee budgets, project delivery from development to deployment, and build capabilities while promoting safety and reliability across IT, R&D, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven experience leading a team directly or indirectly.
• Proven relationship building and development of partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI, PLCs, G-Suite, and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, and R&D to integrate Automation and Controls.
• Manage capitalized projects, budget development, and financial reporting.
• Oversee project implementation from development to deployment.
• Provide leadership and promote a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
• Promote safety excellence and ensure adherence to safety standards.
