Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to oversee the Automation & Controls team and collaborate with engineering for continuous innovation. Lead capital planning input and align with manufacturing optimization initiatives while driving operational support across facilities.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing and strong leadership across multiple locations, with a focus on safety and system integrity.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
10+ years of experience in manufacturing.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
Proven experience leading a team indirectly or directly.
Proven relationship building and development of strong partnerships.
Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
Ensure strategic contribution to the 3 & 5 year capital plans for manufacturing facilities.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, GAF Business Systems, R&D to integrate Automation and Controls.
Manage capital projects, budgets, and financial reporting for the team.
