Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Controls to lead the Automation and Controls team, aligning with engineering to drive continuous innovation and manufacturing optimization. You will contribute to capital planning and collaborate across IT, Process Services, and R&D while ensuring ongoing operational support for production facilities.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 10+ years in manufacturing, and a proven record of leading automation initiatives across locations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
10+ years of manufacturing experience.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
Proven leadership of teams (direct/indirect).
Proven relationship building and partnerships.
Working knowledge of CAD, HMI, PLCs, G-Suite, and advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Eng, and R&D to integrate Automation and Controls.
Manage capital projects, budgets, and financial reporting.
Ensure documentation and standards are maintained for controls systems.
Provide leadership and promote a safe, customer-focused culture.
Drive safety excellence and machine health.
