Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to oversee the Automation & Controls team and partner with engineering to drive continuous innovation and manufacturing optimization. This role provides strategic input to capital planning and ensures alignment with GAF's initiatives while delivering strong operational support to production facilities.

A proven leader who can build cross-functional relationships is essential for success in this role, which spans multi-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to develop partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI, PLCs, G-Suite and diagnostics tools.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans for manufacturing facilities.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Engineering, R&D and others.
• Manage capital projects, budget development and financial reporting.
• Oversee engineering practices, document controls systems and project deployment.
• Provide leadership and promote a customer-service oriented environment.
