Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Director of Employee Relations to lead nationwide ER initiatives from a remote base in the United States. You will oversee investigations, policy development, and multi-state compliance across all 50 states, partnering with executive leadership to foster a compliant, high-performing culture.

You will manage a team of ER professionals, guide complex terminations and leave processes, and mentor HR partners to apply policy consistently while advancing organizational risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with 5–7 years in Employee Relations and employment law compliance.
• 3+ years leading remote HR/ER teams across a multi-state workforce.

Responsibilities

• Lead ER strategy and oversee team responsible for complex investigations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all 50 states.
• Develop and update HR policies to mitigate risk and support organizational goals.
• Coach HR partners and executive leaders on high-stakes employee relations issues.
