Job summary

Akumin is hiring an Employee Relations Specialist for a full-time, remote role based in the United States. The position focuses on intake, triage, investigations, and policy interpretation to support a positive employee experience while ensuring legal compliance.

The candidate will manage ER inquiries, partner with managers on performance actions, maintain confidential records, and contribute to HR policy training and development. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years HR experience with a focus on Employee Relations.
• Strong active listening, verbal and written communication; analytical and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Basic understanding of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA) and HR compliance protocols.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first contact for employees and managers on workplace concerns, document initial statements, and triage cases.
• Independently investigate routine ER cases and work with managers to develop PIPs and corrective actions.
• Maintain confidential ER records and ensure compliance with laws.
• Advise employees and managers on policies and HR best practices.
• Assist with development and delivery of HR policies, employee relations training, and compliance initiatives.
