Job summary

Akima, LLC is seeking a self-starting Business Development Director for the Technology Services and Products Group (TSPG). The role focuses on leading strategic BD activities to win work in new markets, leveraging existing client relationships, and expanding in DoD IT markets.

A secret clearance is required for this position. The director will shape opportunities, manage pipelines with win probability and revenue projections, and guide capture and proposal efforts in collaboration with VP of BD

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive experience in Business Development in DoD IT contracting environment.
• 1–5 years working closely with Capture Manager and Proposal Manager.
• Able to obtain secret clearance.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; Experience in technical writing.
• Prior experience across Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise IT, Cloud Migration, Cybersecurity, Software Development, Data Server Consolidation, IT Modernization.
• Four (4) year degree from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market assessments and manage BD activities to support growth in DoD IT Markets.
• Identify and qualify new BD opportunities and assist in capture and proposal processes.
• Research competition and create competitive analyses.
• Develop and execute strategic BD plans and annual/long-range plans.
• Support leadership with BD targets, market outreach events, and trade show strategies.
• Lead the team and collaborate on proposal documents.
