Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Director of Disaster Finance Response to lead the unit responsible for the financial infrastructure supporting domestic disaster relief. The role oversees budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and controls, with three direct reports and a broader team.

The position is fully remote within the United States and requires extensive travel during disasters. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance/Business, 7+ years of relevant experience, 5+ years in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA and MBA may be preferred.
• 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Review financial data analysis related to operations, business performance, opportunities, investments, etc.
• Direct financial analysis projects, forecasting, and statistical studies.
• Ensure that all reports and disclosures comply with applicable governmental regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.
• Direct employees engaged in the preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements.
• Support domestic disaster with agile and quick purchasing and financial tools/systems while ensuring strong financial controls.
• Lead team in applying newer technologies for continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure the more expensive domestic disaster relief operations are well-supported by the finance department for the response phase and facilitate transition to next phase.
