Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Director of Supply Management to lead a $100M spend portfolio with a hands-on leadership style. You will develop category strategies, negotiate high-value contracts, and drive procurement initiatives that improve cost, quality, and resilience.

Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, you will mentor a team, collaborate across Legal, Risk, and Finance, and leverage data analytics to inform sourcing decisions while aligning procurement with mission goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7 years of progressively responsible supply chain management or procurement experience; 10+ years preferred.
• 5 years minimum staff management; 7+ preferred.
• Travel: 25% domestic travel may be required.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, contracting, negotiation, supply chain risk management and supplier relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply management team.
• Provide strategic leadership for assigned categories, projects, and initiatives within supply management.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with internal business clients and key partners.
• Anticipate market shifts, supply chain risks, and organizational needs using data and performance metrics.
• Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies in partnership with stakeholders.
• Develop negotiation strategies and negotiate contracts and agreements.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure end-to-end procurement processes.
