Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking a Director/VP, Commercial Lines to lead national Commercial P&C operations, drive standardization, and partner with regional leadership to enhance client service and shareholder value. The role emphasizes workflow optimization, workforce planning, and integration support for M&A initiatives.

Fully remote work is preferred within Central Time hours, with onsite hybrid options for certain branches.

Qualifications

• Active Property & Casualty License required.
• CPCU and/or CIC designation (or equivalent).
• 5–7+ years of Commercial Lines operational leadership experience within a large insurance brokerage or agency.
• Strong expertise in Commercial P&C agency operations, workflows, servicing models, and process optimization.
• Experience with workflow standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing sustainable process improvements.
• Strong workforce planning, capacity modeling, and resource management experience.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and operational integration initiatives.
• Applied EPIC experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
• Proven ability to influence leaders and drive results in a highly matrixed organization.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Commercial Lines strategy with leadership to strengthen operations and performance.
• Identify operational challenges and implement scalable solutions to improve efficiency and client outcomes.
• Establish standardized Commercial Lines workflows, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce variation.
• Evaluate operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze staffing models, workload distribution, and develop capacity plans.
• Partner with Managed Services to ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Provide guidance on agency operations, workflows, and system usage (EPIC).
• Support merger and acquisition initiatives through operational assessments and integration planning.
• Collaborate with producers and leadership to drive engagement and successful implementation of initiatives.
• Promote effective use of technology and reporting tools to improve performance.
• Use metrics and BI to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvements.
• Lead organizational change efforts and develop leadership capabilities.
• Maintain advanced industry knowledge and champion IOA values.
