Job summary

National General is seeking a Direct Sales Agent Specialist to drive growth by generating new business, cross-selling existing customers, and building lasting relationships. You will engage local customers in person and by phone, expanding the book of business through community involvement and outside marketing efforts.

Base compensation begins at $20 per hour, with incentive pay and commissions based on performance.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience.
• P&C licensing (Preferred) or must attain required licensure within 90 days of joining the company.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales goals through new business, cross-sell, and retention.
• Build and maintain a consistent pipeline, including local lead generation and referrals.
• Develop relationships within the community (e.g., dealerships, events, local partners) to support business growth.
• Conduct outbound prospecting and follow-ups to convert opportunities into sales.
• Partner with leadership to support sales and local marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on products, underwriting guidelines, and market competition.
• Deliver results aligned with performance standards, compliance requirements, and customer experience expectations.
