Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to lead CT and MRI protocol development, review emerging technologies, and guide imaging initiatives across the health system. You will collaborate with vendors and imaging leadership on equipment decisions and program development.

You will contribute to ongoing QA, regulatory compliance, and safety, while remaining at the forefront of medical physics through professional development and committee participation.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required.
• PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or equivalent medical physics board.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer for RAM licenses and X-Ray registrations.
• Develops and evaluates radiation safety policies and practices to minimize exposure.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations for x-ray and imaging equipment.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates with architects on radiation-safe space planning.
• Participates in quarterly physics reviews and regulatory surveys.
• Collaborates with health physicists to investigate and respond to radiation incidents.
• Leads Radiation Protocol and Radiation Safety Committees meetings.
