Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required. PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray and RAM licenses and liaises with Texas DSHS.
• Develops radiation safety policies and ensures ALARA principles.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and shielding evaluations.
• Preceptor and mentor to less experienced staff and supports mandatory education.
