Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to implement and maintain advanced imaging technologies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading quality assurance programs across a large health system. The role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advises on research, and reports to the Director of Radiation Safety to align with organizational goals.

The home-based position focuses on CT and MRI protocol development, vendor partnerships, and guiding imaging initiatives

Qualifications

• Clinical experience post graduate training preferred.
• Four (4) years of related experience preferred.
• Member of the American Association of Physicist in Medicine or other equivalent professional society.
• Eligible to be the principal Radiation Safety Officer for both Radioactive Materials licenses and Certificate of X-ray registrations as defined by Texas Administration Code §289.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Develops and evaluates radiation safety policies and procedures to minimize exposure.
• Oversees EPE of diagnostic imaging equipment and evaluates image quality and safety.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates space planning with radiation safety and ALARA principles.
• Participates in quarterly reviews and radiation safety committee activities.
• Assists with regulatory surveys, inspections, and accreditation activities.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and shielding evaluations.
