Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: MS in Physics or related field; PhD preferred.
• License/Certification: Texas Medical Physics license required.
• Board certification by ABR/ABMP or other recognized medical physics board.
• Clinical experience post graduate training preferred.
• Four years of related experience preferred.
• Member of AAPM or equivalent professional society.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Develops radiation safety policies and procedures to ensure safe practice and minimize exposure.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations (EPE) of imaging equipment and evaluates image quality.
• Coordinates shielding evaluations and system performance requirements with facilities and vendors.
• Supports accreditation efforts through the American College of Radiology (ACR) as needed.
• Prepares regular reports to the Director of Radiation Safety.
