Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an Edifecs DevSecOps Engineer to lead cloud migration and automate CI/CD within VAEC environments. The role focuses on AWS-based infrastructure, cloud security, and multi-account management, with on-call support as needed.

Remote-based position supporting Veterans Affairs, requiring US citizenship and Public Trust clearance eligibility. Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering and 8+ years of AWS cloud experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of large-scale, highly available cloud architecture.
• Expertise in AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Route 53.
• Experience with AWS security practices including IAM, Shield, and WAF.
• Proficiency with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, NodeJS).
• Experience with IaC tools: CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK.
• Experience with monitoring/logging: CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, Prometheus/Grafana.
• Familiarity with HIPAA/GDPR/PCI DSS security frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the migration to the cloud.
• Create data and architecture diagrams for Cloud Infrastructure and systems.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate CI/CD automation.
• Manage permissions in cloud environments for each app and service.
• Implement monitoring for cloud architecture and hosted systems.
• Provide cloud support for VAEC environments in AWS GovCloud.
• Adopt a DevOps mindset with CI/CD tooling knowledge.
• Produce Cloud Security Provider Documentation.
• Design VAEC/cloud-hosted solutions and address readiness gaps.
