Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a talented Edifecs DevSecOps Engineer to support the Veterans Affairs program. This 100% U.S.-based remote role requires strong AWS expertise and a DevSecOps mindset to drive cloud migrations and secure, scalable infrastructure.

You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines, manage cloud permissions, and develop monitoring to ensure compliance with VA and federal policies.

Qualifications

• Extensive AWS infrastructure design, deployment, and management.
• Experience with large-scale, HA, scalable cloud architecture.
• Proficiency with core AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53.
• Experience with AWS security practices (IAM, Shield, WAF).
• Scripting in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or NodeJS.
• IaC tools: CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK.
• Monitoring/logging: CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, Prometheus/Grafana.
• Security/compliance: HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS.
• Edifecs and X12 healthcare transactions experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Migrate to the cloud and architect cloud infrastructure.
• Create data flow and architecture diagrams.
• Develop and operate CI/CD automation.
• Manage cloud permissions and security controls.
• Implement monitoring and ensure VA policies compliance.
• Provide cloud support for VAEC AWS GovCloud environments.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional projects.
