Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven AWS cloud design, deployment and management experience.
• Experience with large-scale, HA, scalable cloud architectures.
• Strong AWS services knowledge (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Route 53).
• Experience with AWS security practices and WAF/Shields.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python/PowerShell/Bash/NodeJS) for automation.
• Experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CodePipeline/CodeBuild).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS; monitoring (CloudWatch).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS in cloud contexts.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead migration to the cloud.
• Create data flow and architecture diagrams for cloud infra and apps.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate CI/CD automation.
• Manage permissions in cloud environments for each app/storage/service.
• Implement monitoring for cloud architecture and hosted systems.
• Support VA Enterprise Cloud environments and VIP development milestones.
• Provide cloud security provider documentation and cloud-readiness assessment.
• Adopt DevOps mindset with CI/CD practices and tooling.
• Lead technical projects across teams and provide guidance.
