Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is hiring an Edifecs DevSecOps Engineer to lead the migration to the cloud, design cloud architectures, and implement CI/CD automation for VA EC environments. The role focuses on security, multi-account AWS management, and ensuring compliance with federal policies.

The position is fully remote with requirements for US citizenship and Public Trust clearance. A strong background in Edifecs, HIPAA, and healthcare payer systems is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Proven AWS design, deployment and management experience.
• Experience with large-scale, highly available cloud architecture.
• Experience with AWS security practices and services (IAM, Shield, WAF).
• Experience multi-account AWS environments using Organizations.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or NodeJS for automation.
• Experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, Grafana, New Relic).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS compliance in cloud.
• Edifecs EDIFECS experience preferred in healthcare contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud migration and design cloud architectures for VAEC.
• Develop and operate CI/CD automation and tooling.
• Manage cloud permissions and security configurations per app.
• Implement monitoring and performance optimizations for AWS resources.
• Support VA Enterprise Cloud environments and VIP development requirements.
• Provide documentation for cloud security and provider guidelines.
