Job summary

Public Lab is seeking a Development Associate to manage and grow the organization’s fundraising efforts, including grants, individual giving, and partnerships, reporting to the Executive Director. The role requires proactive fundraising, grant writing, and developing new funding streams.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 years of demonstrated job experience in a related field.
• Experience in organizations that rely on multiple funding sources (grants, memberships, earned revenue).
• Experience working at nonprofit organizations with budgets around $1 million+.

Responsibilities

• Grants: Writing, reporting, and management of private, corporate and government funding; drafting narratives for grant proposals and reports; coordinating information from program staff for reports and proposals; managing grant reporting deadlines and donor records.
• Individual giving: Creating communications for individual donors and funders; managing donor relations through tracking donations and writing appeals.
• Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with funders and craft messaging aligned with funder priorities; report program impacts with comprehensive grant proposals.
• Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with high-level partner organizations to secure funding opportunities; support Public Lab community members with fundraising and partnership development.
• Organizational Growth Leadership: Help achieve yearly financial goals; create fundraising strategies; identify new funding streams from foundations, government, multilateral, corporate programs and individuals.
