Job summary

Semilla Nueva is seeking a detailed-oriented Development Operations lead to own the donor pipeline, implement robust systems, and establish accountable cadences across the Development team. You will design workflows, manage donor commitments, and produce leadership-ready reporting to drive funding for biofortified seed initiatives.

You will coordinate across Finance, Programs, and Communications, ensuring timely follow-up on all donor engagements and strengthening relationships with foundations

Qualifications

• 4+ years in development operations, fundraising, or a comparable role with pipeline ownership.
• Experience building systems from scratch, not just operating others’ processes.
• Fluency with CRM or pipeline tracking tools and configuration, not just data entry.
• Strong command of spreadsheets and turning messy data into clear reporting.
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with closed loops.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
• Ability to hold peers and senior colleagues accountable with productive friction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a complete, current donor and prospect pipeline with stage, owner, next action, and expected amounts.
• Run a standing follow-up discipline across the department to ensure timely commitments and proposals.
• Track pledges, deadlines, and deliverables, driving timely completion with leadership included.
• Escalate stalled relationships and aging opportunities before they go cold.
• Design core workflows for qualification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgment, stewardship, and renewal.
• Own the internal development tracker, data structure, automations, permissions, and training.
• Build dashboards and recurring reports showing leadership where money is and what needs attention weekly.
• Create templates, checklists, and SOPs to improve speed and structure.
