State Voices is a national network committed to advancing democracy through data, research, and equitable fundraising practices. We seek a Development Manager to split time between grant writing and building a robust donor pipeline, supporting the Development Officer and reporting to the Director of Development.

Initial focus on prospect research, grant proposals, and donor engagement, with opportunities to grow into managing a donor portfolio as the program matures. January 2027 start.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising processes and teams, including grant writing, database management and administration, increased programmatic responsibilities, and prospect research.
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
• Strong writing and editing skills; ability to translate complex ideas and strategies into clear, concise narratives to engage supporters.
• Commitment to racial equity and working with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Support grant writing by developing, writing, and submitting proposals to foundations and institutional funders; ensure timely submission and reporting.
• Coordinate with program, development, and finance staff to share grant requirements and reporting expectations.
• Develop a comprehensive prospect research and qualification program identifying high-potential individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Draft and manage donor stewardship emails and communications to deepen funder relationships and support moves management.
• Lead on strategy, solicitation, and tracking of corporate sponsors for events and convening sponsorships.
• Assist with maintaining donor CRM records and generating lists, profiles, and reports.
