Job summary

Working Films is seeking a Development Manager to lead the organization’s fundraising and oversight of annual plans, grant processes, donor relations, and campaigns. The role involves collaborating with co-directors, the finance committee, and the board to grow funding for film and social justice programming.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of fundraising leadership, strong grant-writing skills, and fluency with Salesforce or similar databases.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience developing fundraising plans for organizations with budgets of $1 million and higher.
• Experience in grant-writing and securing institutional support.
• Deep knowledge of foundations, philanthropy, individual giving, and crowdfunding trends.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with fundraising databases such as Salesforce or the ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan to support the organization’s programming.
• Lead and coordinate writing and submission of grant proposals, LOIs, and grant reports.
• Prepare acknowledgements to institutional supporters and individual donors.
• Manage foundation relations and increase grants from current funders.
• Prospect and secure new sources of foundation support and major donors.
• Create and maintain a grants calendar and fundraising schedule with deadlines.
• Design and manage donor solicitation campaigns via social media, email and direct mail.
• Maintain understanding of Working Films activities to inform fundraising approaches.
• Track fundraising activities, gifts, and interactions in Salesforce and prepare monthly reports.
• Support co-directors in external fundraising and donor relations.
