Job summary

The Lupus Foundation of America is seeking a Development Manager to lead peer-to-peer fundraising, manage events, secure sponsorships and guide volunteers across the Western Division. This role will drive program support, regional engagement and revenue growth while coordinating with national teams and partners.

Remote in California with occasional travel; exempt, full-time, and reporting to the Western Division Vice President. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage and generous leave.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in peer-to-peer fundraising and event management.
• Proven track record of exceeding fundraising goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel 25–30% and work evenings/weekends.
• Live in California.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute Walk to End Lupus Now events through recruitment, sponsorship, fundraising and leadership development.
• Plan Lupus & You Empowerment Conferences, securing sponsorships and venues.
• Build relationships with volunteers, partners and sponsors to maximize revenue.
• Develop knowledge of lupus health issues and key initiatives.
• Ensure fundraising activities align with the Foundation's mission.
• Maintain donor databases and assist constituents with tools.
• Manage Division social media to boost engagement.
• Coordinate with National marketing for consistent messaging.
• Support Western Division and national LFA activities as needed.
• Perform other related duties.
