Black Voters Matter Fund is seeking a Development Director to lead the national and state fundraising strategy and to grow major donor support for BVM’s C4 and C3 arms. The role directs development operations, grant writing, donor relations, and reporting while collaborating with communications and finance teams.

This remote-friendly position requires residency in Atlanta, GA, and offers a compensation range of $165,000–$185,000 with extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of executive-level fundraising and management experience.
• Experience with donor databases and tracking systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Mail Merge with Excel/Word).
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced team.
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to progressive causes and community impact.
• Donor-centered approach and strong communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees fundraising strategies to grow donor base and grant opportunities.
• Creates and manages a major gifts program and maintains donor relationships.
• Oversee institutional giving and grant submissions to ensure timely, high-quality proposals.
• Partner with communications to craft fundraising messaging across platforms.
• Prepare required reports and annual budgets with relevant teams.
• Oversee hiring and supervision of development staff.
• Provide training on fundraising and donor cultivation throughout the year.
