Black Voters Matter (BVM) is seeking a Development Director based in Atlanta or surrounding areas to lead our national and state fundraising efforts. You will direct a broad range of activities, from donor cultivation to grant writing, and manage donor databases and reporting in collaboration with other teams.
You will oversee development staff, create major gifts programs, and drive messaging for fundraising across social and traditional channels while advancing BVM’s racial justice mission.

Development Director is the leader of Black Voters Matter (BVM) Development team with a primary purpose to increase the financial support of BVM Fund (C4) and BVM Capacity Building Institute (C3). The Development Director will direct a wide range of fundraising activities, including administrative functions, which include oversight and management of a donor database, grant writing management, fundraising events, and identification, prospecting and cultivation of large and small donors, and public and private institutions. The Development Director will help to support expansion of BVM’s approach towards mobilizing voters as well as BVM’s broader objective of advocating for racial justice and building power for Black and marginalized communities.
This position reports to the Executive Director.
Salary range: $165,000–$185,000, commensurate with experience. Please note: The target budgeted salary for this position is $165,000 to $185,000 annually. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
