Job summary

Center for Black Educator Development seeks a Managing Director of Development to build and lead a comprehensive fundraising program supporting national growth and impact. Reporting to the Chief of Staff and Advancement, you will oversee institutional giving, major gifts, annual giving, and donor operations, while partnering with the CEO and Board to shape strategy.

You will build a sustainable development function, drive fundraising excellence, and guide external partners to achieve CBED's

Qualifications

Seven or more years of fundraising leadership experience.
Experience building a comprehensive development function and strategy.
Proven track record cultivating major gifts and donor pipelines.
Experience partnering with executives, founders, and boards.
Experience developing multi-year fundraising plans and benchmarks.
Proven ability to mentor teams and foster inclusive culture.
Experience using donor databases/CRM to forecast and report.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a comprehensive development strategy aligned with CBED's priorities.
Lead major gifts and individual giving to create a sustainable pipeline.
Expand revenue through corporate partnerships and campaigns.
Collaborate with leadership and the Board to advance fundraising priorities.
Strengthen operations, data, and CRM to support discipline and growth.
Lead and develop the development team for high performance.
