Job summary

IPS - Integrated Project Services, LLC is seeking a Design Safety Engineer to support the IPS Design Division Safety Program and field safety initiatives across U.S. office locations (MA, NJ, PA, MD, NC, KS, CA).

Qualifications

• Proficient in process safety concepts and methodologies.
• Familiar with OSHA 1910/1926 requirements and compliance.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional facility teams.
• Strong time management and multi-project coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality process safety support with the Director.
• Coordinate scope, complexity, planning, and scheduling of projects.
• Determine safety reviews needed for projects (PHA, HAZOP, HAC, etc.).
• Facilitate PHAs and design risk assessments using HAZOP/What-if/LOPA.
• Support IPS process safety program development including PRD and HAC.
• Develop and update departmental safety policies and standards.
• Review reports and provide technical safety documentation input.
• Train IPS personnel on process safety management.
• Coordinate with external consultants for training and resourcing.
• Perform safety calculations (PRD, LEL, HAC) as needed.
• Ensure facility designs meet regulations and codes (biosafety, radiological safety).
• Provide hazard mitigation consultations to clients and colleagues.
• Estimate hours for deliverables and maintain design safety work quality.
• Ensure on-time delivery and project schedule adherence.
• Contribute to business development and client proposals.
