Job summary

The University of North Texas System's Registrar-165001 office in Denton seeks an Application Support Specialist to ensure proper coding and maintenance of degree requirements in UNT’s degree audit application. This technical, non-student-facing role demands deep knowledge of student records, curricula, and academic policies, with strong analytical problem-solving.

Responsibilities include data entry, collaborating on sequencing guides, user support for staff, and documenting processes.

Qualifications

• Proficient understanding of relational databases, client–server concepts, and programming; knowledge of the application development lifecycle.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel).
• Certifications in supported technologies if applicable.
• Excellent organization, teamwork, problem solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Works with academic advising and support areas to develop and maintain degree audit system; interprets degree requirements and enters data into degree audit system tables.
• Collaborates with academic areas and interprets curricular requirements to maintain degree sequencing guides/maps for prospective and continuing students.
• Works with advisors to address individual student issues within degree audit and student information systems.
• Provides technical assistance to Admissions, Records, and Transfer Processing staff to resolve issues with student records.
• Supports training for UNT faculty and staff on degree audit usage and documents degree audit processes.
• Keeps updated on committee proceedings to ensure changes to academic requirements are reflected in the degree audit system.
• Collaborates with the Assistant Registrar for Academic Support on system upgrades and new projects.
