Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to join the Data Protection team. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining data protection infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments, with emphasis on DLP, DSPM, and encryption.

You will work with Microsoft Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, Varonis, and scripting skills in PowerShell or Python, collaborating with senior engineers to improve policies, procedures, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Requires 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
• 5 years of experience in Information Security and systems analysis.
• 5 years deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 5 years of experience creating and managing DLP policies.
• Preferred 3 years of experience with Python/Java/JavaScript/BASH/PowerShell.
• 3 years designing and providing architectural support for two cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain DLP/DSPM components across platforms, ensuring security and performance.
• Collaborate on data protection design, aligning with requirements in on-prem and cloud environments.
• Configure and maintain data protection policies, sensitive information types, and detection parameters.
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation, and documentation tasks.
• Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) to improve deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with teammates to broaden data protection expertise.
• Stay current with data protection technologies, standards, and compliance.
