Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and sustain data protection infrastructure, covering DLP, DSPM, and de-identification across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will work with senior engineers, design secure data protection solutions, and contribute to policy development.

The role requires hands-on experience with DLP tooling, scripting (PowerShell/Python), and knowledge of HITRUST/NIST/PCI/HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred in Information Security/CS.
• Advanced cloud certifications (GCP/AWS/Azure) preferred.
• 5+ years in Data Loss Prevention and information security roles.
• Experience deploying/maintaining DLP infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure and DLP/DSPM solutions.
• Collaborate on designing data protection architectures across on‑prem and cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Configure policies, detect sensitive data, manage exceptions, and tune controls.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive remediation.
• Contribute to testing, implementation, and documentation of data protection projects.
• Develop scripts (PowerShell, Python) to automate deployment/maintenance of tools.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and regulatory requirements.
• Work with senior engineers to improve policies, standards, and procedures.
